We say the "good old days" and yet look at the hard work
Notice that the team of horses is PUSHING the header to
cut the wheat! A conveyer takes the wheat heads up to a
box and you can see a horse drawn box waiting for the other
box to be filled. Then the box is taken to a stationary
thrasher. "Good old days!" Maybe maybe not!

We just celebrated Jonas's birthday and here is the
cake..a darthvader" cake...He loved it..We all met
out to Jon and Shanan's or grandma's house and
had a hamburger dinner and the cake..Linda, Matt

You would surely think that with
that great big pond just a few steps away
would entice the two weird ducks
Even throwing them into the
pond scares them and they waddle back
up to their puddle..thus "puddle ducks"
These two puddle ducks sleep in a dog house,
inside a chicken run,
and think they are chickens, Thus "Duckins"
maybe that's why they won't go with the other ducks.
The female laid an egg in the dog house, in the chicken run,
which a cat promptly cracked open and ate,
The male duck is presently attacking Zeek!
Maybe he thinks he is protecting his female!
Poor Zeek is polite enough to not kill him
but does get his head in his mouth!
It's kinda sad to see Zeek running from a little duck.
Maybe when the mating season is over the duck
will return to his quiet self...maybe!

This was the twins second birthday party in February.
The cake is always the fun part. As you can see the
snow is partly gone but then it snowed again. Julie has
little Ryan in her arms..Juliette's nick name is
"Cindy Lou Hoo" Elise's back is to the camera..We
all had a great time. We felt bad that we were
not able to be at Lorenzo's birthday part in California,
but we were thinking of him.

Reese inspired me to get going again on my blog. The farm is in a state of mud, rain and the spring rising of the pond. My spirits were brightened the other day when I saw bulbs coming through the ground! Of course that was on the south side of the house, out in the gardens it is still winter. But I'm looking at the garden magazines and wanting something on each page. Visions of a better flower summer are in the plans. I visited with my cousin Pam and Aunt Phyllis who is living with Pam in Idaho Falls. I recorded 3 hours of laughter and stories that I will try to decipher into some sort of history. I did this in lieu of the history of Mother and Dad that I am trying to put together in a rough form by Dad's 100th birthday on May 6th.. My cousin Marci Stanger Homer who lives in Idaho Falls came over for the afternoon and we had a great time. Aunt Phyllis is still talking about it. So here are a few pictures of the day!

Since we were just adults on Christmas Eve, except Ren Ren, we decided to make our own socks and hopefully Santa would fill them, some expected a lot others didn't! (Becca/Rod) Rod's was a little green sock not bigger then your thumb...while Becca's was 3 feet long...Mitchells would'nt hang and didn't have a pocket, so he had to just lay the ship on the floor...Natali's was a duplicate of her one the river boat..Shari, was practical and made a handbag...Keith attached a lady bug on the bottom, Holli was her creative self and had paint on hers, and well mom's was a eric carle special with trees and moon..anyway the living room was indeed a mess! But, we all had fun and Santa did come and fill the socks...

Almost everyone blogs...so now I am a blogger too! I don't expect the world to follow the happenings of my life, but those who are interested may get a chuckle out of the daily events on this funny farm. This morning I woke up at 5:30 to the milk truck, Zeek barking and a beautiful pink cast over the snow. By the way Zeek sleeps on a huge pillow just outside the door with the cats Willow and Orange. I think he is just too old to care and enjoys their warm bodies.
